News: 10 Suggestions for Wig Care and Storage
Many customers have inquired about how to care for their hair wigs, so we've compiled 10 helpful tips for better maintenance and storage of your hair wig.
1. Before washing, detangle your wig using a wide-toothed comb, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots. Avoid combing from the roots to prevent shedding.
2. Wash your wig 1 to 3 times a week if you wear it daily, or as needed after a few wears. Dirty hair can become unmanageable and tangled, leading to shedding.
3. Avoid using hot or cold water for washing. Hot water can weaken the wig's structure, while cold water is ineffective for cleaning.
4. Always rinse human hair wigs with water flowing in the same direction as the hair to prevent matting and tangles.
5. Pay extra attention to the areas around the face while washing, as these spots can collect dirt, oil, and makeup.
6. Do not twist or rub your wig harshly while washing or drying.
7. Use sulfate-free products designed for chemically treated hair to wash and style your human hair wigs, ensuring they remain soft and manageable.
8. To prevent stretching the cap, never place a wet wig on a mannequin or Styrofoam head. Instead, use a folding wig stand or a tall can of hairspray as a drying platform.
9. Keep two wigs on hand at all times. This way, while one is being washed, you have a backup ready to wear. Rotating between wigs can also help prolong their lifespan.
10. When storing your wig, ensure it is washed and completely dry, then place it in the black net provided during shipping. Avoid applying any products when the wig is not in use.
Bonus tip: When storing a long-haired wig, detangle it and braid it into one or two braids to prevent it from becoming tangled.
